Bloggers are all over the world wide web. Some write about crafts, others write about work. It is becoming more and more popular every day. If you have never blogged before, you may find it overwhelming or intimidating, but it is very simple and can help you to reach your weight loss goals.
How?
o It makes you accountable. You can set out your long term goals in a summary paragraph or opener. Each day or week you will make a new entry about your successes and challenges for the week. You may even gain a following, and those people will be looking in on your progress and posting comments to keep you motivated.
o You can understand your emotions more easily. Our emotional state has a very big influence on how we eat, what we eat and whether we carry out our plans to work out. If you can add in comments about how you are feeling on a particular day or week, you can gain support from your friends and family when they read your blog. You can also gain an understanding of how your emotions affect your weight loss efforts.
o Patterns emerge. As you write about your progress and setbacks, you will be able to see a pattern or trend. Perhaps you were stressed at some point and this caused you to have a session with a bag of chips on the couch. There is no better way to spot these types of patterns than to write about them. Once you start to review your entries, it will all become more clear to you.
o Get the support you need. Many people find that when others leave comments on their blog congratulating them or encouraging them to move forward from a set back, they have the courage to carry on. Support is a very strong tool and when you receive an outpouring of comments and emails, you will find the courage to carry on.
o Celebrate success. Sharing your accomplishments with your readership is a good feeling. Writing about your accomplishments will help you feel great about all of your hard work and to share it with others. Maybe they need to see that you have accomplished this and they can too!
As you move towards a healthier lifestyle, sharing your roadblocks and successes along the way can provide you with all of the motivation you need to reach your goals and be successful.
